The Eighth Forum of MyAlmaty Project – Almaty: the City for the Children
On February 26, 2019, the 8th Forum of MyAlmaty project was held in Almaty on the topic of Almaty: The City for the Children. The Urban Forum Kazakhstan organized the event for the second time. Participants discussed the implementation prospects of UNICEF's Child Friendly City initiative in Almaty.
Teenagers and students of OYLA School appeared as the forum speakers, among others. During the month, the Urban Forum Kazakhstan oversaw preparations for the performance by school students. Adil Nurmakov spoke about the results of the study on child- friendliness of the urban environment held in two cities of Almaty and Astana and shared the case studies of urban projects with children in focus. The forum was attended by representatives of the Almaty Akimat, international organizations, local and international experts, students and children.
The event was organized by the participants of MyAlmaty project in collaboration with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Kazakhstan, the Urban Forum Kazakhstan, and the OYLA School.
